Educational Conferences and Offerings
NAGAP strives to provide informative, enriching and current education to its members. NAGAP educational offerings are constantly evolving. Our list of annual meetings can be found below. Our offerings range in size from the multi-track Annual Conference with over 800 attendees, to the intimate Advanced Graduate Professionals Institute with 40 participants.
NAGAP’s educational offerings also provide an opportunity for members to share their knowledge and experience with their fellow graduate professionals throughout the year.
Winter 2012
Advanced Graduate Professionals Institute (January 19-20, 2012)
The Winter Institute focuses on advanced topics and is specifically designed for seasoned graduate professionals. Over an intensive and interactive two-days of workshops and presentations, attendees will be exposed to advanced topics and discuss issues and challenges faced by senior-level enrollment management administrators.
Spring 2012
25th Annual Conference (April 25-28, 2012)
The NAGAP Annual Conference is designed with numerous educational sessions to meet everyone’s needs whether they’re new in graduate admissions and graduate enrollment management, or a seasoned veteran. The 2012 educational sessions will provide new approaches and creative strategies in a variety of topics related to our field, admissions policies and processes, career and staff development, graduate student support and financial aid, legal and ethical issues, marketing and recruitment, student services and many others. The conference will be held at the Hilton Austin, in Austin, TX.
Pre-Conference Institute
The Pre-Conference workshop, held during the Annual Conference is specifically designed as an intensive, half-day program that focuses on a specific issue affecting graduate enrollment management. Past institute topics include: Creating Graduate Education Opportunities for Veterans & Military Students, Successful Strategies for the Recruitment and Retention of Underrepresented Graduate Students, Developing Successful International Student Recruitment and Retention Programs.
Annual Conference Attendee Lists
NAGAP is continuing to “Go Green” by eliminating the paper copy of the Directory of Conference Attendees and the Pre-Registration Roster for the Pre-Conference Institute (PCI). Prior to the 2012 Annual Conference, NAGAP members can access these rosters in the Members-only section. Non-Member conference attendees can request these rosters by contacting the NAGAP Executive Office at info@nagap.org.
Summer 2012
Summer Institute for New Graduate Enrollment Management Professionals (July 12 - July 13, 2012)
The Summer Institute for New Graduate Enrollment Management Professionals focuses on the needs of those who have been working in the field, or in their current positions, for less than three years. Additionally, more advanced professionals in higher education who work in undergraduate enrollment management or in graduate fields outside of admissions, have also found the workshop to be useful and appropriate in providing them with specific graduate enrollment management background. Utilizing interactive, small-group settings, the Summer Institute provides a broad overview of the issues and challenges faced by the profession and incorporates sessions specifically designed to prepare new professionals to be successful in a complex, changing environment.
